Even if the demons lurked near the residences area of the city, she was still drawn here by a group of demons. Not like she was all that close either. Within three miles of it, give or take. The demon group though, was close. Her heart gave out a silent pang into the twilight-hour of the day. Her mind projected itself to the threesome of demons, and she spoke towards them, forcing her thoughts into their minds, "Wait right there." She could tell they'd stopped moving, and she smirked, as she then drew closer. It were times like these, when Azrael was away she would always go out and play. What was that saying? While the cat's away, the mice will play? Sounded right. At this moment she didn't care. She had been hunting these demons down, one of the demons she had recognized the scent - it was one of the ones responsible for Lily's death, the little girl she visited once in awhile and brought her back to life to say hi and enjoy the bubbles she enjoyed so much. Ones her parents always wanted to give her. Feet moved faster as she rounded a corner, and eyes landed on the three beings in front of her, no more than 20 yards in front of the Invictus. Sneering, hardly noticing she was even closer to the Residences, the woman spoke, "You killed an innocent human girl...you're going to pay." she felt her protectiveness flare. At this point she didn't care if anyone else saw her - she wanted revenge. Her sword was screaming for it, wanting to taste the flavor of demon blood once more. Unsheathing it slightly, she paused and resumed just to fight them off with her hands and powers. She didn't want to at least reveal the mixture of colors her sword made, blue-yellow flames with coiling shadows around the tips. Yeah - that would be a big hint to these demons.
The one who was she specifically hunting stepped forwards and he sneered darkly, "You are wanting to fight three of us? What are you, just a Nephilim or Human even? Maybe if you're either one, I'll take you home, be my pet." Green eye and brown eye narrowed darkly, and she snarled, approaching him, boots silent on the ground, "I will never be your pet."
she then raised up her hands and shoved him away, sending the demon flying backwards. Smirking as the other two lunged, she then whipped out her anti-demon gun, they immediately stopped in mid-lunge, and hesitated. Eyes darkened with rage, she then placed her gun's sight on the one demon she really wanted to kill. It would be so easy, just pull the trigger. But she couldn't help but feel someone watching her. Thank goodness she wasn't showing too much of her powers, and she had no smell either. Her fingers clenched on the gun, and the demon she'd shoved snarled, "Go on, do it. You won't." The gun quivered slightly, before three shots rang out, and the demons were gone in an instant, back to Hell. Her breath escaped her in one long whoosh out of her lungs. The gun remained pointing up for a moment, before she lowered it, her arm hanging at her side. One down, one to go. That was reassuring at least. Her eyes traveled to the gun in her left hand, before checking on the anti-angel gun she had as well. They were on the same leg, her left one, while her sword was on her right side. The woman had strategically placed the anti-demon weapon above the anti-angel one, since the demons seemed to be more of a problem than angel's. Probably because Azrael's scent would be on her too. Brows furrowed at this thought, before the scent of demons caught and tainted her nostrils. Wrinkling her nose, the Invictus soon tucked her anti-angel weapon away, but kept that gun for demons out. No way would she be caught by demons. No way, no how. Not when she had Mars to worry about. Mars, he'd come like an unofficial brother to her over the past few weeks they'd discovered each other. A small smile appeared on her lips. Just the sense of loneliness that had faded reassured her. She had the chance of finding her parents. Suddenly realizing she'd been standing there - probably a little too long, she kicked a can lazily aside, before turning on her heel. It would be smart to leave, the smell of the demon's blood would be attracting others soon. She headed back the way she came, feeling a pair of eyes on her. Muscles tensed slightly, though gave no indication of this, just in case the being watching her decided to do something stupid. Placing a finger in the trigger loop, she remained poised and continued to walk away. Too bad she couldn't fly, her wings would draw too much attention - running or walking would have to do. Though, she paused, and noticed something out of the corner of her eye, when it turned out just to be a broken-down car with a piece of cloth waving in the breeze in the window, she sighed but jumped slightly when she heard footsteps. [/blockquote][/blockquote] * * * words;; 1+ ok...300+ i'm sure thoughts;; eh, have fun, come in how-ever you'd like. <3 outfit;; coming soon <3

”There’s no one here.”
Lilith replied with a heavy irritation tune to her voice as she answered the demon from the other room. ”Whoever told you this lead about these humans had stones for brains.” continued the unamused Validus as she surveyed the vacant house. Just a few months ago, a human family of four called this place home. Before this war the two kids undoubtedly chased each other in the backyard, the mother cooking and cleaning for her family, and the father arriving in the driveway from work as he was greeted by the family’s loyal four-legged pet. Human beings are such strange creatures; this life seemed quaint and tedious. Then again, Lilith never experienced such human behavior in that fashion, nor did she really wish to. Her life, her profession was what she was good at, and she wouldn’t change it just to gain a house with a white painted fence and babbling children to take care of. Lilith’s crystal eyes blinked as she surveyed the ransacked house; it was obvious that this place was already rummaged here before. Furniture overturned and papers and belongings strewn about the hard wooden floors. If there was any compassion in Lilith’s soul, this house would pull at her heart strings, but alas, those feelings were alien to the Validus. And for good reason compared to what Lilith has witnessed in her years, this was just a mere lump in the throat by humans. To Lilith, it was just another empty house of humans, their enemies in the war. The Validus swayed herself around as she decided to leave; her gray high heeled boots stepped on a cracked picture frame. Underneath the cracked glass, the picture of the previous family grinned up at her. The kids posing properly in front of the mother and father; the father’s hand placed lovingly on her shoulder as the mother’s face glows. Fire from Lilith’s resentment flared inside her; she stepped her whole boot over the picture as the shards of glass shattered into tinier pieces as she headed down the hallway to the front door. ”I’m leaving, I don’t have time to chase after rumors.” The Validus commented plainly and a bit irritated that she’d wasted her time and energy coming here. Not to mention she had to walk around with her gray high heel boots while observing the possible spotting of straying humans. Another sigh passed Lilith’s red cinnamon painted lips as her right studded black gloved rose to her head, slightly pinching the top brim of her nose in agitation. Releasing her little pinch, Lilith’s hand fell to her side as she passed the broken threshold while the front door hung crookedly by one of its hinges. Her heels clicked on the wooden paneled porch that surrounded the house. The weather stubbornly kept Tamaya under an ice ridden spell. The heavens were blanketed by layer upon layer of feathery white and gray clouds. Oh did Lilith miss the days of the sun and its blistering desert heat as it normally baked the earth in this place. Lilith paused as she attempted to get use to the cold gust of wind that even seeped through the black jacket that covered Lilith’s arms. The only sound Lilith could hear was the rummaging of the determined demon inside the house to find the humans they were sent to hunt down. An occasional curse hissed in the different parts of the house which made Lilith’s lips curve in a smirk. Then unexpectedly, three distinct sounds caught the Validus’ attention as it echoed into her ear as she turned her head to the direction of the sound, an eyebrow arching in inquisitiveness. Lilith knew what produced that sound, a gun. From the echo, the gunshots seemed to be shot outside. The potent scent of demonic blood wafted in the air around Lilith; that was the only scent. Among the musty smell, no human, angel, or hybrid scents could Lilith detect. ”Perhaps the previous humans’ stench is blocking the attacker’s scent.” A human that could take down three demons just like that; they must be good, good enough to spark Lilith’s interest. With a flap of Lilith’s exposed black wings, the Validus silently glided toward the source of the gunshots. Peering from the side of a house, a mere young woman walked the streets of the residency. Her pace was in haste, probably nervous of her encounter of demons. Peering pass the girl, Lilith presumed the scattered bodies in the background to be the moronic demons that attempted to tear her apart. Turning her gaze from the bodies to the girl, Lilith witnessed the dark haired girl quickly snap her head around to the attention of an abandoned car. ”A bit jumpy this one is.” Lilith observed as she inhaled a large breath through her nose, attempting to detect the woman’s scent. When she could not sense a hint of angel, demon, human, or hybrid, Lilith’s crystal blue eyes widened with curiosity and unbelief. ”Impossible,” whispered Lilith as she attempted to compose her surprise. With a flap of her wings, Lilith silently glided a great distance in front of the woman on the sidewalk before she turned her head to face Lilith. Lilith’s heels clicked as she landed on the ground, her black wings exposed. Her stance was relaxed, one leg supporting most of her weight while she folded her arms across her check. Her lips were set in a bit of a curve, a look that says ‘I know your secret’. Curious… Lilith simply spoke, her eyes targeting the Invictus that stood before her. A diamond among mere pebbles in this part of town. Continuing to walk, the Invictus cursed herself. What had she been thinking? Firing a gun like that in demon territory - or close to it. She swore to herself, mentally kicking herself in the butt. She should know better. She did know better. A pitiful look fell over her features before it rapidly faded. She wouldn't get down too hard on herself. She had acted out of emotion - something she had been warned against. Closing her eyes, since she was on a flat piece of the asphalt, the woman's eyes opened a few moments later. That was better. Just a few, good deep breaths and she was good to go. It still stunned her how demons and angels alike were able to completely disregard human emotions. She wondered how it went for nephilim and devas. They had human blood coursing through their veins, along with the supernatural blood. And she thought having Validus and Archangel blood sucked. It did, but she could only imagine how it must feel to be a half-breed like that. Course, there were more of those than there were of Invictus, like her and Mars. Brows knitted together softly. Yes, there were definitely more than just two or four Nephilim and Deva, she had already met three in this city just within the past year or so. How weird. All the species were weird. How they desired power. How they desired ones with power, the Invictus were wanted. Archangels and Validus were wanted, though they had specific sides, Invictus sometimes - usually - didn't. Groaning quietly at this thought, she smothered her thoughts. Just go with it, Pan, that's all you can do now she mentally told herself. It was true. She was here, and had been. Life was life and that was it.
Small-heeled boots were mostly silent on the hardened asphalt on the ground. Asphalt that used to support so many cars, now only supported the war and shoes. Sometimes a random car if someone had taken the time to build one or fix it. Not that it was impossible, but there were priorities, and plus - all supernaturals could fly - only humans and Soldiers couldn't. Her thoughts drifted to her wings. Maybe once she was out of demon territory, she could fly back to her place. Yes, that would be nice. Running an anxious hand through dark hair to get it out of her face, ears perked suddenly, when she thought she heard someone. An ever so slight pause could be heard by her boots as she attempted to listen for whoever had made that noise. Sounded like wings. It had to be. Her pace remained consistent, not wanting to be around here for much longer if she could avoid it. Unfortunately Azrael would probably be able to smell the demons on her - but that was about it. One hand subconsciously fell onto the hilt of the sword she'd inherited, one she was told by her father was strong, and was designed just for her. But weren't all swords designed just for their owners? She scoffed - but of course they were! A sword smith wouldn't give an 18-year-old a sword meant for an 800-year-old warrior. Plus it depended on the species too, she assumed.
Don't go with assumptions, she told herself. Those just led to problems. Like assuming she was alon- her thoughts stopped when a being - a woman with black wings appeared. Wings as dark as night, matching the color of an endless pit, one where no one knew where it led to, except the ones unfortunate enough to go in there. Unconsciously she could feel her eyes widened to dinner plates. The woman's scent was swiftly carried her way with the few pumps of the woman's wings. A Validus. She was done for. Mentally cursing up a storm, as the woman's boots clicked on the asphalt which she now shared with Pan, the Invictus stopped, noting the woman's stance. Was she going to attack? Certainly didn't look like it was rolling around in her mind, plus her hands weren't anywhere near the sword resting at her hips. Pan witnessed her look, and then the word, "curious." escaped the woman's red lips. Her own lips were nude, just a bit of shine on them, but that was it. She took time to do make up? No! She stamped that thought out, her mind going wild. Hands tensed, and muscles clenched, remaining lithe in case of a fight. Swallowing back the nerves that threatened to jump out of her throat, she rested a hand calmly on the sword, though showed she made no move to unsheathe it unless provoked, "Can I help you?" She unsheathed it slightly.
After all, this woman was a Validus, like her mother had been. The thought shot by in her head, like a bullet. Could she be her mother? That, she thought, is highly unlikely. Her mother had told her she had streaks in her hair, light-brown streaks. This woman didn't. Nonetheless, this woman was associated with demons, and therefore she was most likely an enemy. Teeth clenched together, as her hand coiled around the hilt, reassuring herself. Pandora shifted her path, aiming to head around the woman, since she was giving no signs of attacking her. Keeping her reflexes in mind, the Invictus spoke, "I was just leaving."
Yes. Make her think she was just human after all. Hopefully. Resisting the temptation to nibble her bottom lip, Pandora began to approach the woman, since she was in her way, and as she neared, she hesitated, "Go ahead...say it." her voice surprised her even. She wanted to know what the woman thought. Pandora didn't want to kill something that was older than her, but if she knew, she'd need to. It just meant one more person knowing who what she was. With her hand calmly on the hilt, but much more relaxed, Pandora couldn't help but feel her curiosity being to peak, wanting to know exactly why this woman wasn't going to attack - or didn't seem to anyway. ”Can I help you?”
The Invictus casually called out to Lilith after as the Validus herself lightly whispered her single word toward the nameless being before her. A familiar scrapping of metal against metal from sword and sheath caught the Validus’ attention. This one was very jumpy. The sound tempted Lilith to reach for her own sword, a bit of a natural instinct when living among enemies every day. Ever so slightly, her gloved hands twitched and yearned to grab the protruding hilt of the sword of shadows. How her grip longed to extend hr arm into a lethal weapon, to feel the vibrations of contact between metal by metal and metal by flesh, to smell the mixture of the iron scent of blood and metal. Such a feeling created Lilith’s adrenaline to pump a bit faster at the temptation, but keeping her instincts in check, the Validus exhaled and inhaled to calm such cravings. Of course before confrontation, Lilith proposed the idea in her own mind that if her stance concluded no threats toward her own sword of shadows at her hip or the sheathed dagger now hidden inside of her upper thigh that clutched tightly around her leg by a strap. Well, I guess this one was naturally extra careful and anxious, especially one as intimidating as Lilith. The thought amused her for just a brief moment, but the mindless reflections withered away as Lilith’s own suspicion against the creature in front of her rose. There stood before Lilith was one of the most omnipotent creatures known to angels, demons, and perhaps a few humans. The Invictus, their names just oozed with their uncontrollable power. Power that Hell desperately desired on their side, a soul that Lilith personally yearned to twist into horrific transgressions. Oh, wouldn’t that be a pleasure. Before the Validus could continue her precariously, passing thoughts, Lilith’s mind instantly became thoughtless as she naturally built mental barriers among her own mind. She knew what stood before her; even Lilith’s own mastery of possession could not withhold an Invictus’ mind for long. All Lilith did was gaze at the female Invictus with a glint of curiosity, mentally to hide her devious features that attempted to curve her lips mischievously. Perhaps start with not scaring her. Lilith kept still, her voice not bothering to answer the question the female Invictus spoke until she did once again. ”I was just leaving,” The Invictus continued defensively and casually as she spoke. Lilith witnessed the slight change of her direction as aimed to the side of the Validus. Of course, Lilith had no intention of the Invictus leave her sight, not until she could ‘chat’ with her, see how her mind ticked if Lilith’s plan could be set to motion in this reality. As the young woman closed the gap between her and Lilith, the Validus’ crystal eyes never once lifted away from her as a spotlight on a stage. All eyes on this Invictus right now. After the young woman spoke, Lilith smirked a bit as her gaze finally broke to flutter her eyes in a ‘yeah, that’s not going to happen’ mindset. Though Lilith did her best to hide such remark; she did not want to upset the delicate situation by triggering a defense response to the Invictus. ”Why the rush; where is there to go in such times?” Lilith answered, turning her head toward the nameless woman, her crystal blue eyes struggling to push back her desire to intimidate. Before Lilith could speak again, the woman spoke out again, something that surprised Lilith and perhaps surprised the one who formed the words ”Go ahead…say it.” In response, Lilith raised an eyebrow as she turned her body to face the passing figure that too stopped parallel to the Validus. ”Say what, exactly?” bluffed Lilith as her face attempted to display an oblivious thought as to what the Invictus was talking about; her voice formed a question with her tune as a sense of innocence sweetened it. A pair of calculating eyes fell on the other's sword. The other sword that clung to the leg much like her own. The other that would enable them to duel if it should escalate to that. If it should. So far she had a feeling it wouldn't. If the demon, the Validus didn't attack, then Pan wouldn't worry about it. Building up her mind slightly, the Invictus then attacked the Validus' mind slightly, as if testing her mental abilities. She was already building up barriers. A grin plastered itself on her lips before she could stop it. So she already figured that she would check on the Validus mental status. Not that she hadn't done it before, she'd done it a few times, having been around for awhile, but nonetheless, every Validus and Archangel even - were just the same. Just the same as the last. They all wanted power, especially a Validus. The Archangels, just to finish off the demons and such that infected the world like a parasite. Draining it and draining it, killing off everything till there was nothing left. But did they think ahead at all? Think of what would happen when they killed off all the humans. Then what? Would they start hunting Soldiers, and even nephilim and devas? That she didn't doubt about their species. How reckless they could be. How unreckless Validus were unfortunately. That only really spelled t-r-o-u-b-l-e. As fingers coiled tightly around the hilt of the sword, she thought about the trouble. Would this woman stir it up with her? She certainly hoped not, because it could end in her demise. And right now she preferred not to kill anymore if she could help it.
Suddenly, a thought dashed across her mind. But not hers. This one was foreign, had an alien feeling to it. Catching the thought, she recognized it to be this being in front of her. It was her thought. Perhaps start with not scaring her. Scaring her? She silently scoffed at this thought. A Validus didn't scare her because of the power, but because of what they could do with the information. Personally she was surprised they hadn't learned about her from Azrael having been in their custody all these years. Unless they did, and they only got her name, just not now. Thinking of that, she quickly thought to her middle name, swapping it with her real name. Just to be sure. She was sure Azrael didn't know her second middle name, so this one had to be good. If not - she didn't know what to do. As her body shifted, being closer to the Validus now, Pandora tilted her head ever so slightly. Poking at the woman's barriers in her mind once more, the Invictus couldn't help but smirk. Should she go ahead and rip through them, or start ripping through them? Well - only if she started it. Yes, that sounded delightful. Despite the situation at hand. ”Why the rush; where is there to go in such times?" As the woman's words rang out, smacking themselves into her ears, the brunette shifted her game, changing it around somewhat. She'd need to just get out of here as soon as possible.
Sheathing her sword completely, giving her two free hands, her telekinesis gripped a nearby car, ready to hurl it at the Validus in order to give her a bit of a distraction so she could disappear. Or at least make a run for it. With her grip on the vehicle that remained still, she responded after a moment, "Away from here." three simple words. She refused to let this Validus play with her. She refused. Little did she know, the poor Invictus. She'd fall trap, but that will need to wait till later. What she knew now, was that she wouldn't give out her real name, just in case the Beast spread her name around if they'd gotten it from Azrael's mind over the past few decades. Thankful she didn't catch his scent on her, the Invictus stated after the woman's comment. A spark of rage flew through her system. Playing dumb, hm? She thought silently to herself. With that, her mind leapt at the Validus' mind once more, rampaging at the barriers she'd spent time building up. Those wouldn't take too long. Attacking her mind, hoping to cause her to fight with it somewhat, she quickly withdrew, hoping this would help the woman back off somewhat. "What-ever...oh.."
she looked back to the idiotic demons, lying motionless on the ground, "Do you want me to apologize? It's only three demons..." Her voice rang coy ever so slightly, wanting to see if this would be a button to the Validus or not. Sometimes it could be. Shifting slightly, keeping her grip on the car, the woman stated, "If that's not the reason, then I'll be leaving, I won't bother you any more than necessary." [/blockquote][/blockquote] * * * words;; idk, over 300+ i hope. :3 thoughts;;just a fine post, i enjoyed reading it love. <3

In a matter of moments within the presence of the Invictus, the Validus sensed a pressure around her own walls that guarded her thoughts, her secrets from the unnatural hybrid. With a few millenniums under her belt, Lilith knew how to guard to own mind from her own species of Hell and of course against the white winged airheads in Heaven. Perhaps one could say the female Validus could master the perception of pain through possession of the mind and body. It was a thrill Lilith knew so much, especially during these times. To feel as if her own body grew extensions, connecting to an unwilling soul, commanding it whatever the Validus desired. But guarding her mind against an Invictus was new territory for Lilith; for now she dared not attempt her little mind tricks to provoke an attack against the prized creature that stood before her. She merely only wanted to converse with the female Invictus, well, as of right now that was only Lilith’s true intent. She wasn’t suicidal especially not in these killing times.
Lilith surveyed the young woman with ever so much care, yet her facial features bore no interest into what stood before her. Yet another light assault pressed against the psyche walls of Lilith. In the Validus’ own mind, her defense recoiled that paralleled of a cobra. Its muscular, slender body recoiled into a striking pose, a warning hiss with every poke and prod at the barriers, and its fangs exposed as its mouth opens viciously as lethal venom drips from the two needles. The cobra within the Validus’ mind grew a bit irritated by the smug smirk that the Invictus cast upon her features after the second prod of Lilith’s mind. An itch to strike the Invictus increased tenfold every time the friction between their minds collided, yet Lilith cooed herself to remain calm and hold out her envy to strike down the enemy. Even Lilith knew that too would be suicidal considering she knew not what it took to end an Invictus. Not yet. Attempting to relief her tension, the Validus allowed her crossed arms to fall to her side, carefully avoiding any moment that would lead the Invictus she was aiming to grab the hilt of her sword. As she did, the Invictus unsheathed her sword, now with two open hands, began to use her telekinesis ability to threateningly raise a nearby abandoned car.
Lilith’s gaze turned from the Invictus to the now levitating hunk of metal then toward the female as Lilith’s ears picked up her tune again. ”Away from here.”
A light, maniacal chuckle could not help to escape the lips of Lilith. It was not out of fear, but out of amusement and a sense of glee for her to stumble upon a diamond in the rough. As her amusement got the best of Lilith, the assault upon her mind began once more in response to her comment earlier. This time the battering of her walls grew intense by the Invictus, yet the cobra withstood its urge to strike back until a breach would happen in Lilith’s mind. Blinking naturally, the Validus’ once mesmerizing crystal blue eyes immediately turned into a bottomless pit of darkness, fogging over her eyes as her barriers withheld the strikes against the Invictus. Certainly the Invictus just tested the barriers of the Validus’ mind to compare its strength against other hellspawn; Lilith did have a slight chance over the other presumable victims, just a slight one. This time on the attack on her mind, Lilith’s features presented no irritation but a twist enjoyment of the sort. Suddenly the force grew back as the Invictus spoke once again. ”What-ever,… oh… Do you want me to apologize? It’s only three demons…” The pleased smirk of the Validus deepened at the comment of the female hybrid as she saw straight through to her intent. Switching the black gaze from the Invictus to the now deceased bodies of the three demons, Lilith took just a casual step toward the bodies. Stopping she turned her body half way then turning her gaze back to the Invictus. ”To the contrary, I would like to thank you for speeding up the Darwinism with those three imbeciles.” Lilith commented, a bit of ruthlessness to her words. These three weren’t working underneath her, more probably with Abaddon or Asmodeus. ”If that’s not the reason, then I’ll be leaving, I won’t bother you anymore than necessary.” In curiosity, Lilith’s left eyebrow raised and curved that peaked her interest. Leave? Certainly Lilith could not let this treasure just walk away without knowing she’d come back to the Validus. Shifting her black gaze to the levitating car then back at the hybrid her voice produced words strategically. ”Why leave when there is so much you can learn…here.” Lilith gestured to the car, the to the Invictus yourself. ”Surely you haven’t opened all the doors to your full potential power.” Pausing, the Validus placed her hand on her hip that was on the opposite side where her sword lounged in its sheath and where it would stay. ”I’ll make you an offer worth your while.” Lilith continued, her voice called out to the Invictus with a slight compelling hint to her open offer. Hopefully, this one will take the bait. Within the few moments the woman had attacked the other's mindset, it was quite easy to see how strong her walls were. Granted she had expected more out of a Validus than a regular demon. A Validus was stronger, to be honest, and therefore she hoped their mind would actually put up a fight. Sensing the woman's tension as Pandora prodded her mind, more curiously than anything, Pandora withdrew completely this time, leaving behind what-ever remained. She wouldn't provoke this woman anymore than she already probably was going to. It wasn't worth it. Especially not a Validus. They were strong, and no doubt about it, this one was too. Plus she was older than she was too, Pandora was less than 1,000 years old, but nonetheless, she figured she had to be one of the only Invictus alive that were older than 100. Then were was Mars. Then were was this woman. This Validus. At the thought, anyone else would have backed down, not an Archangel, and certainly not her. She could take this woman on. Personally she was interested to see how a fight would go down between these two. She hadn't ever fought against a Validus, a Deva and Demons, yes, they were quite simple. But a Validus, and this one at that, Pandora had a feeling she would win, but she didn't know how much it would take. And that was one thing she planned on finding out if this woman in front of her decided to attack. So far though, instead of thin ice between the two of them, Pandora felt like it was thickening somewhat and she began to pick up the pace of the conversation with that reassurance.
Her eyes noted the movement of the Validus' arms when they dropped to her sides. The sword on her hips remained still, as did her own. So there wouldn't likely be a fight, but more or less tension. Hands tightened slightly, and she felt a knuckle pop without her intention. Yes, a Validus would certainly be one who would take more time to kill. Though she preferred not to have to go there if she could avoid it. Pandora's hands remained at her sides, refusing the itch that told her, screamed at her, grab your anti-demon gun, your sword! but she didn't. To draw one's sword invited the other to do the same. Then it was a slippery slope from then on. Eyes shifted to her sword for a split second, before refocusing them back on the Validus, the strongest demons she had heard about. Yes, she knew about them, and this was probably only the third time she'd come this close to one. Just to feel their power emitted from them was amazing, it was like the power of an Archangel that Pandora could always sense, but this power was darker...almost more confident she could say. Just how many years did this woman have under her belt? Suddenly, her mind whirled to a halt when she noticed the powerful demon's eyes turned jet black. Did her eyes ever do that? So far she didn't think so, but they did flash once in awhile to a different color with anger and passion. Pandora's eyes locked onto the ebony-hued ones of the Validus. They did keep her attention, especially due to their close proximity to her face, but also the close proximity to the Validus' wing color too. She didn't know anything could be so black.
”To the contrary, I would like to thank you for speeding up the Darwinism with those three imbeciles.” At the words painted with malice the Validus threw at her, Pandora shifted quietly. There was a hint of - hatred and almost annoyance it felt like in her words. Those demons didn't matter to her. Wonderful, so that means they didn't work for her. Keeping that in mind, the Invictus spoke, "Then, you're welcome." Course she wouldn't tell her exactly why she was here. She'd come here to kill that one demon, the other two just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Kind of like how she felt now. Her eyes widened slightly when the Validus' dark gaze landed on the car which Pan suddenly realized started to hover slightly. Her power then unleashed, and a rumbling in the earth started, what-ever the reason, mostly out of fear and anger. She wanted to frighten this Validus - she aimed to - so that she wouldn't be snared by anything. Or so she hoped. Keeping her mouth shut, the rumbling stopped, and the car was released, dropping the four inches to the ground with a loud smash. The moment the car touched the ground, she focused her attention on the powerful demon, one she knew she would have liked to learn her demonic powers about from, back before she had found someone to teach her a few of the perks. The woman's words though, caught her by surprise. How hadn't she realized her full potential?
A slight frown appeared on her features for a fraction of a second, as the Invictus pondered over this. At the woman's pause, and her hand coming up to the hip on the opposite side of her body as her sword, Pandora spoke, her voice portraying her wariness, "How do you know I haven't already reached my full potential?"
For an unknown reason, the Validus' voice hit something in her. She wasn't sure what - but it did. Pandora turned fully to face the Validus, as her hand swiftly checked the anti-demon gun on her right hip, before she then spoke calmly, tilting her head, "What could you, offer me?" Her mind reeled swiftly, though not without caution at this woman's words. "I've been around long enough to discover, I'm sure, what I can do." she stated, reassuring herself and this woman in front of her. Well - attempted to anyway. Pandora arched an eyebrow quietly, then she stated, remaining still, right where she was, "I'd like to know if I may at least know your name, I can't very well just call you Validus, very informal." Chomping onto this conversation, Pandora eyed the woman in front of her, "I'm willing to hear this offer....here." She was careful though, ignoring the warning signs in her head. Pandora wouldn't go anywhere though, she'd stay right here, where she could get away quite easily if the need should arise. Her different-hued eyes, in contrast to the Validus locked onto the black ones. Either way, she desired to hear the offer - though took extreme caution. ”Then, you’re welcome.”
The words that slipped through the Invictus’ lips to the Validus; she’s already doing Lilith’s little dirty work, and she didn’t even know it. Oh, if only they both knew what was yet to come. Lilith’s ebony fogged gaze followed the Invictus’ stare as she stared at her own handiwork. From what the Validus could see in the nameless woman’s eyes was a just a dash of surprise of her power. A natural, devious curve of Lilith’s lips sunk into her features as the echo of the creaking metal from the car’s frame as it fell the four inches to the pavement in a crashing effect. The crushing of glass fragments from the windows crackled underneath the force of the easily one ton vehicle. Mimicking the Invictus’ gaze, Lilith’s neck commanded her head to face the important woman. Lilith’s informal standing shifted just a bit slightly as the woman in front of her spoke, this time in the form of a question to the Validus, challenging Lilith’s knowledge about this Invictus. ”How do you know I haven’t already reached my full potential?” To the Validus, this inquiry was almost as predictable as most in conversation. Without hesitation, Lilith began in a straight, confident tone of what the Validus first thought of the Invictus, reeling her in just ever so slightly by a human’s curiosity, if Invictus did have the sense of curiosity. Lilith was not completely sure of that little trivia. ”I have myriad of centuries under my belt, darling. Many more than you; I’d stake my feared reputation on that little fact. No Invictus since creation had ever met their full potential. You are the closest one…” Lilith’s words briefly drifted off as her gaze narrowed on the Invictus as if attempting to read right through her soul. Her head tilted in interest as if finding something interesting in her eyes. ”Plus, the years of experiencing and witnessing power tell me that there is still something prevailing sleeping inside you.” A persuasive grin fluidly played with Lilith’s features her head tilted back to its original, natural position. Lilith did see something in this woman, a glint of darkness to her. If there are just a shadow of dark within a soul, even if the almighty Invictus, there was the possibility of twisting it to the will of Hell, especially to the will of Lilith. To Lilith, this would be playing with a candle flame in a field of dead, arid grass. Just one stumble, and this experiment could scorch the earth to ashes, Lilith included. But if played right, Lilith could win the loyalty of the most known powerful creature in creation and see the humanity’s last days in a matter of months. In precaution to the Invictus, Lilith did not allow to conjure these thoughts in her head in paranoia that the Invictus would read them like a page of a book. She kept these devious dealings in the pit of her shadowed soul. Before going on, the Invictus formed yet another question. ”What could you, offer me? I've been around long enough to discover, I'm sure, what I can do." Lilith raised an eyebrow as she silently challenged the woman’s words with a bit of a stare that questioned the Invictus’ own thought on what she just stated about herself. ”Mere child years you’ve experienced.” explained Lilith simply, her undertones slightly mocking the little knowledge the Invictus has compared to one of the original condemned ones. "I'd like to know if I may at least know your name, I can't very well just call you Validus, very informal." The Validus hesitated for just a brief moment; what could it hurt to tell the Invictus her name? All the Archangels knew her from younger years, so did the Validus and those are the only two groups that cared to find the existence of the Invictus. Parting her lips unperturbedly as a egocentric grin formed, the lyrics venomously purred the name of their master. ”Lilith... the Validus of Death.” Lilith’s head nodded just slightly in what of an old fashion bow of her head. After her own introduction, Lilith paused as just a mere silence developed between the two, edging the Invictus to speak her name without a push or prod from the Validus. ”I’m willing to hear this offer…here.” Attempting to suppress a grin of victory, the composed Validus closed her lips. Instead, Lilith broke down only a bit of her mind fortress, her urge to strike any foreign mindset settled as she spoke within her own mind, wordlessly beckoning the Invictus to listen. ”My simple proposition to you is this, Invictus,” began Lilith within her mind as she took a step to the side casually, resting her hand on the hilt of her sword with no intention of grasping the metal. ”I offer you protection from any other Archangel, Validus, or any other worthless creature upon this earth that seeks your destruction, any information you desire that only benefits you, and my services to assist you in any way to pioneer the path of your race’s powers. In return, I expect your services of protection to those that might come after me. Trust me, if you are with me, others will target me to get to you. If I am gone, then there is no one that will assist you in your path of your higher calling.” Once Lilith’s mind offered the proposal to the Invictus, her mind began to close, attempting to seal the foreign mind from her own. ”So, do we have a deal?” Lilith inquired, a bit of a compelling edge to her voice. She desired this; Lilith’s challenge was to make this Invictus desire the same dark goals but through different paths. As the words left her lips, Pandora could feel her mind, and then her soul begin to merge. Merge into something, something she wasn't sure she was going to like or not. It felt like she had just taken a step into quick sand. No matter how hard she fought, she had already taken the step. This step was into the area of the quicksand. Now she had to beg for mercy from it. Beg to see if she could delay the inevitable. The end she knew would come, already she could feel her feet beginning to disappear into the abyss below that she knew was down there. Already she could feel invisible chains around her ankles, keeping her from moving anymore than she already thought she could. Her heart jumped out of her chest at this thought. Would she be able to get out of this? It felt like the quicksand was already at her knees, she would need to use her wings now, to get out of this sand - if she could. Pandora could feel her back twitch painfully at this thought, the thought of not being able to escape, but to just fly away and get away from everything. Think about this Validus, and what she really wanted. Think about Azrael, and just what he was to her - though she was sure she already had a pretty good idea. But the present danger was what worried her the most - this Validus. Demons of all sorts had a motive to pretty much everything they did, and she had no doubt in her mind this higher-ranking and more powerful demon didn't have a motive too. What was it though? Her ignorant mind demanded, but her logical mind snapped, it was because of what she was. Her mind immediately raced to the thought of Marshal, but he was safe, he was safe back in her anti-demon place, where she knew this demon would never get near. Even if this demon claimed they could be friends, Pandora would never let her within 100 yards of the place, especially with Marshal there, enjoying his life, one he's only had 10 years to experience, despite looking to be her age.
”I have myriad of centuries under my belt, darling. Many more than you; I’d stake my feared reputation on that little fact. No Invictus since creation had ever met their full potential. You are the closest one…" The closest one to what? Reach the full potential? Doubt gnawed at her stomach, but when it did, it seemed to release something deep within her. Something she'd realized when she could bring the dead back to life. The power. The knowledge that she could do whatever she wanted, and could not only get away with it, but could destroy or nurture the world back to how it had been. Eyes flashed, and the Invictus' eyes fell to the ground, as her mind whirled silently to the outside world. To the Validus and to anyone else to happened to be looking, the brunette would appear just relaxed and having a - tense - conversation with the demon, but inside, doubt clawed through the power-hungry side, while her mind reeled in all the facts, all the memories she harbored in there, as if trying to make sense of the past 800-hundred plus years on this Earth she's had. ”Plus, the years of experiencing and witnessing power tell me that there is still something prevailing sleeping inside you.” The power-hunger stirred deep in her gut, and Pandora almost clutched her stomach, as if to will it away. Almost. Her hands remained stiffly at her sides, while some fingers on her left hand twitched, the hand she fought with most in a sword fight, the fingers twitching, revealing to anyone who should notice the struggle within her. Sealing off a sense for a brief moment, the Invictus formed a quick bubble of protection around her with her eyes closed, the telekinesis bubble protected her for a few moments, throwing away anything that got too close to her for her liking.
Dropping the telekinesis, her eyes had reopened, and neck moved her head smoothly up to face the Validus, and she spoke, her voice calm and steady, "Of course. I may have something more within me, just a box of surprises." she felt the sarcasm slip in there, as a last-minute defense mechanism. Pandora didn't want to get too involved. That much was revealed by that, but she had a feeling, as the quicksand consumed her thighs and worked on her torso, that it would be too late. Course when she spoke once more, saying she was only a child, she felt that familiar rage spark for a brief moment. Didn't someone else call her that too? She couldn't remember off the top of her head, but she vividly recalled a Validus calling her that a long time ago, and she had ended up killing it, just for it to be reborn, then probably killed again later in this never-ending battle between the gods and the minions. A minion, she had promised herself, she'd never be, not to Lucifer or the Almighty at least. The woman in front of her's lips parted and a soft purring of the name sent chills down anyone's spines, though she refused to let it do so. This was the Lillith she had heard the stories about. The children stories that told tales of this certain demon were painted over the truth, making this specific demon to be something of a monster. But no, in front of her was a Validus that had seen many millenniums, and - maybe - more to come. "I guess, since Creation, no?"
she paused and added, "You speak, as if you've met another one like me before...have you?" The pair of the Invictus' eyes narrowed in on the ones of the Validus, before lips parted and uttered the name she hadn't wanted to forfeit to the Validus, but ended up doing so, "Pandora. Pan." The moment Pan escaped her lips, her mind flashed to think. Did they have her name? That would mean at least, they knew about her from Azrael, then wouldn't that worry this Validus, ahem, Lillith? Given another moment, Pandora figured not, this woman looked pretty comfortable where she was. "Validus of Death...." she mused though mostly to herself. So there was the Archangel of Death, and the Validus of Death. Was this a pattern developing, or just by chance? Personally Pan didn't want to get into that. Rapidly checking her mental barriers, when she noticed they were fully intact, she continued her thoughts. They turned personal a moment before she quickly reverted back to this tense situation at hand. A hand flew up to the hilt of her sword when Lillith's rested on hers, but upon seeing the sheath remain immobile, the Invictus relaxed slightly, but still kept her hand on the hilt, not wanting to let her guard down. Upon realizing the Validus was starting to speak to her in her mind, she explored outside her defenses ever so slightly - for the most part, just enough to listen to the woman's words. Remaining silent, contemplating, the Invictus felt her breath leave her at the offer. Protect this Validus against anyone who should dare to harm her, and in turn, get information, protection and learn more about what she could do. Instantly, she thought, she hadn't learned much from the other, Az, he'd offered protection, but limiting her power usage. Pandora could feel her powers surge within her body at this thought. Use her powers, pretty much freely? A smile flickered on her features for the briefest of moments, it could have appeared to be more like a trick of the light. Fully lifting her head, she spoke, not bothering to respond in their mind, "I accept the offer." But as she said those words, the quicksand consumed her, and Pandora could feel the tension vanish, though only something else to take its place. Ebony stained eyes waned from their intensity over the dazzling crystal blue irises the Validus naturally possessed. Silence squeezed between the two women as they stood just footsteps apart. With a flick of a mind change, the Invictus could begin a duel with the Validus. This one would be different; Lilith was neither naïve nor dim-witted. She knew that there was no chance for her sake to escape the fury of a talented Invictus. The one that stood before Lilith for instance, emitted talent and prospective results. Lilith allowed the silence to swirl around her and the Invictus as the Validus felt an indiscernible shield around the woman. She’d wait until this one was comfortable to permit Lilith in within her mind. Her eyes flickered to the twitching of the Invictus’ hand; an inside battle perhaps as the Invictus contemplated wordlessly within the cocooned shelter of her own mind, somewhere Lilith dared not to poke and prod at this moment. Once the Invictus opened her eyes, she spoke an interesting note.
"Of course. I may have something more within me, just a box of surprises."
Lilith could not but produce a smirk that settled gently upon her features as the sarcasm within the Invictus’ response coated her response. So this one did have a sense of humor, slightly, but something was still there. There’s time to change that. ”Surprise me then.” retorted the Validus in a light tendency, a bit of a teasing challenge edge to it. Once the Validus acknowledged her infamous calling, a bit of satisfaction befell Lilith as she observed the features of the creature before her. She had heard of her, who hasn’t? Even the most non-religious human recognized the name “Lilith”, a name that produced sheer terror in the souls and minds of those who feared the wrath of the ancient Validus. Of course, the reputation was easy to fulfill when Lilith visited the human’s ice hole every once and a while to create a little havoc. Still, it was fascinating to her that many knew her and were frightened of her rage. The Validus’ conceited thoughts were interrupted by the Invictus’ voice once again as her words formed into a bit of a question. ”I guess, since Creation, no?” Instead of answering the obvious question, Lilith’s eyes glinted with the answer in the direction of the Invictus. "You speak, as if you've met another one like me before...have you?" Lilith hesitated for a brief moment as to how she’d answer this question. Lowering her gaze from the Invictus’ eyes, Lilith’s icy gaze darted back to the stare of the hybrid. ”Not on a personal level,” started Lilith as her eyelids blinked carelessly. Just its mother before her swift end. But that was centuries ago and when orders mattered.” Lilith explained vaguely. She recalled the scene as if the memory was that of a movie reel in front of Lilith’s eyes. The Invictus’ mother, an Archangel the Validus knew before her fall, cowardly pleaded for herself and her child to be spared before Lilith’s blade. Lilith could still recall the iron aroma of blood; this was her first order she took after her fall. The start of something twisted. Just as quickly the memory appeared; it vanished from Lilith’s mind. The Validus was more intrigued by the piece of information that the hybrid offered Lilith, finally a name. ”Pandora. Pan.” The name struck a chord of familiarity to the Validus from Greek mythology, the goddess who opened the box and released the evil into the world. Oh perhaps the irony? Once Lilith stated the agreement within her mind, she observed Pandora with extreme interest. She surveyed any body movements that told that she would not accept the offer. To her surprise, a flickering of a smile presented itself on the Invictus as she must have weighed the options privately in her head. At that moment, the Validus’ devious mind grew a grin as Pandora finally produced the words that Lilith wished to hear out loud. ”I accept the offer.” With a satisfied set look in Lilith’s eyes and an approving curve of her lips, her lips parted as she spoke to her new partner. ”Riveting.” remarked the pleased Validus. Pandora was the Validus’ now whether she’d admit that or not, Lilith would say no such thing to the hybrid’s face. ”I am looking forward to our partnership, Pandora.” The Validus wrestled down a smirk that did not make it to her features as she spoke. Taking yet another casual step to the side, Lilith folded her arms across her torso as her lips parted again. ”My part of the contract will start tomorrow. Meet me in the cemetery at dusk. There you can show me what you know,” Lilith paused as her eyes darted back to the three lifeless demons. Tearing her view from the bodies to the Invictus before her, Lilith added confidently. ”I’ll take care what has transpired here. You’ll then be covered from Abaddon's minions.” TAG: pandora WORDS: -shrugs- dnt know MUSE: run devil run -girls generation CLOTHING: clickNOTES: you post last and then close the thread? Green and brown eyes could see the unusual glint in the ebon-hued eyes of the powerful demon before her. The glint that she wasn't sure she knew what it meant, but it couldn't mean very well for other things, especially concerning the war. Catching a tid bit from Lillith's mind about a sense of humor, Pandora decided to ignore that. A sense of humor? Psh, she just wielded sarcasm to make sure that if a situation started to get uncomfortable, she could whip that out as a last resort and make sure that she could keep the conversation moving. Her mind was briefly put on pause when Lillith then responded to her sarcastic comment, "Surprise me then." Oh, I'll surprise you, Pandora thought smugly to herself. Lillith had no idea what she could do. A hand tightened slightly around the hilt of her sword, but the sound of metal against the sheath never came. Her hand had just tightened, because she had smelled something interesting in the air, and it wasn't the smell of the Validus in front of her. No, it was the same smell she had caught with Hayden awhile ago. The demons had seemed to be gathering somewhere, as if planning something. Now, since she has this "deal" with Lillith, would she be able to get the demons' secrets? Or at least some of them, to share with an Archangel? Her thoughts ran rampant, though Pan didn't dare allow Lillith to see her mind at work. Adding onto her barriers, though she figured it was unneeded, she still did it anyway. There could still be another one around here attempting to get into her mind. Making sure her mind was sealed tightly and perfectly, the Invictus focused her attention on the demon once more to make sure she didn't miss a detail.
Course as she did this, and had voiced a few questions towards the Validus, she noticed the look about the Creation one, and was tempted to snap something back, but the woman's eyes had vanished for a moment from her gaze, listening to her answer as she had lifted her head back up. As she listened to Lillith's response, Pan felt a pang flow through her. A swift end, then did Lillith kill it and the mother? She had to have, but Pan remembered, most Invictus were rarely born, since others would usually find them and kill their mothers before they were born, fortunately they were only like that for three months, but those three months meant everything. So she had killed another of my race? As she focused on that, Pandora suddenly realized she had added something, when orders mattered. Did she even listen to Lucifer anymore? A shiver darted down her spine at that thought. This Validus was closer to Lucifer than she had ever thought she'd get. Maybe had even seen him and worked with him, especially since she'd been around since Creation, then that meant she had to know Lucifer on a mostly - somewhat - personal level, to be banished from Heaven. Her eyes glazed over for a few moments as the Invictus digested this.
Lifting her gaze, she followed the Validus movements as she took another step to the side. Muscles tensed and remained lithe slightly in order to be ready for an attack whether it be from Lillith or another demon, she could take care of them - hopefully - in one swipe. She released her death grip on the hilt of her sword not wanting to damage it - which she doubted she could anyway, she refused to - and heard Lillith's words. Cemetery at dusk. A glint appeared in her eyes, that was where she had met Marshal. Fear slithered down her back as she quickly smothered it before it got any bigger. No, Lillith didn't know about Mars, and Pandora planned on keeping it that way. Keeping a hiss back, she settled for a soft sigh instead, and then nodded solemnly, "Okay." Looking back to the three demons she'd slaughtered and another name appearing, Abbadon, the Invictus hesitated and spoke, "I don't mind killing more....especially if they're associated with the one I killed first."
The pair of the hybrid's eyes flashed, there were only two demons left who were responsible for Lily's death, and she was going to find them - and kill them. It didn't care to her about this new partnership, it was a promise she'd made to the little girl, and she was going to fulfill it. Her back twitched, wanting to fly away, but she just settled on walking. Dropping her hand from her hilt, she spoke, "Cemetery tomorrow at dusk, I'll be there." her voice was stern, though calm as well. Turning on her heel, she pivoted her head slightly to the left, her mind lunging out back towards Lillith's, as if to have a bit of fun, before she walked off, leaving the Residences. She knew she had left the Residences, but she felt as if she had left something behind, as the quicksand consumed her whole.
