WARRIOR POET ONCE SAID ," you're not dead yet so live like you could be . " • • • • • • • • • • • • It was quite dangerous for one such as himself to be wandering about during times like these. Although the fallen angel was not as strong as he once was, he was strong enough to fend for himself. The last thing he wanted was someone fighting his battles for him. He unlike others, did not feel the need to hide. He was very observant of his surroundings, always took light steps, always guarded. He had been on Earth for some time, since the day he was cast from Heaven he has been fighting demons. He was quite skilled at the art of fighting, though he was not quite as good as Azrael.
The fallen angel had a wide range of anti-demon weapons, among them, he preferred the sword. It was much more personal that way. He had been on the trail of a group of demons for a few weeks now, on one of his own missions. His piercing, light grey eyes scanned the darkness. There was no sign of demons, but he still wouldn’t let his guard down.
It was a sad thing, what this world fell to. Humans left to try and defend themselves. The Angels, even with the help of the Archangels could not fend off every demon at every corner of the world. Hayden did the best he could to help, still he wasn’t what he once was. Hayden’s muscles tensed, it was a habit from when he had wings. All that was left was a v-shaped scar down his back. He sighed in frustration when he had lost the scent of the demons. He turned around, stalking off towards the park.
The sky was overcast and gloomy, like it couldn’t decide whether it wanted to rain or snow. The town of Tamaya was located on the edge of the Mojave Desert, the weather that this place was experiencing was not native to the region. He gripped his sword tight, ready for anything that attacked him. He was on his toes, breathing steadily as he walked towards the park through the gloom.
The streets were empty, like usual except for the occasional human, or a group of demons. He had been helping a group of Soldiers fend of demons farther into town. Now he was all by himself, and he liked it that way. Hayden could not help but miss his angelic parents who lived where he was cast from. The others acted like everything should still go about its normal, it was as if they didn’t care what would happen to the humans. Before working himself into a fit he calmed himself.
He reached the park, the swings on the play set creaked eerily. No more sounds of joyous laughter, no more children running about. There wasn’t even the sun, like some faceless enemy had decided to block it off from the world. When would this endless hell on Earth end?

If there was one thing all the supernatural species wanted to do, and could do quite well was fight. It was like someone not being able to scratch at something for years, she ran a hand down her arm. It was true, she loathed not being able to use her powers freely. Though she wanted to stay here in Tamaya, she'd grown attached to it somewhat. Course, as her green eye and brown eye watched the humans down below, she measured their emotions and reactions to things. Their emotions had always intrigued her, especially since sometimes they let them cloud their judgment on basic things. Like food. Having disappeared from the place she usually hid in, with anti-demon sigils she had done herself on, she adjusted the sword against her hip, the one from her father. Intricate designs were laid on the hilt, revealing the sword smith must have cared, or been paid very well. She went with the latter one. Scoffing at this thought, the woman then continued on her way, a hand lazily falling on the hilt of the sword. It wouldn't matter, though the sword always alit with purple-shadows engulfed with blue-yellow flames, she'd much prefer just throwing the demons away. That always just made life so much easier. But the demons were crawling around, and as one eyed her from the safety of its perch, she narrowed her eyes, before her mind leaped at its own mind, causing it massive amounts of unnecessary pain. As she tore the memory of it seeing her from its memory, she withdrew from the demon's mind and pressed onwards.
Though, she stopped in mid-step. She recognized a scent. Turning slightly, the brunette noticed it was coming from the nearby park. The park which she could imagine had once been filled with the laughter of children, their feet running all over the place in a game of tag. Hesitating, her eyes scanned the area as she began to approach the block where she knew the playground and park were located. In all honesty, she wasn't sure what she was doing out here. Her mind ran a muck, attempting to make sense of everything. Azrael had randomly returned, after vanishing without a trace over 50 years ago. Her eyes fell down, going into deep thought. Yes, it certainly was an interesting thing to think about. She didn't know what this was between the two of them, but Azrael and she had been getting close, and when he vanished, she felt...betrayed almost. But no, it hadn't been by his desire, and he'd ended up in Hell. If only she could have taken...no, she told herself. Then he'd just go crazy trying to find her, while she had stayed up here, hiding as she always did.
Drawing up the hood on her jacket, the woman, with her hair down in soft waves today, lifted her head as she approached the park, and caught a familiar scent. Was that Hayden? The thought of seeing him again made her smile. Though he wouldn't smell her coming, she was coming from his side, so he'd most likely catch her in his side vision. Calmly approaching him in the park, she took her time, even if she wasn't sure as to why. In reality, she was scanning the area, but she didn't sense anyone else but herself and the blonde guy. Running a hand along a metal part of the swings which probably haven't moved in years, dropping that hand, with the other one she got her hair fully and nicely out of her face. Eyes landed on the Fallen silently, and she allowed a weak smile to paint itself over her features in a light greeting, "Hey, Hayden." They had met a few times before, mainly when she had run into the same group of demons that he and the Soldiers had. Fortunately she did manage to run before the humans questioned her. Wrinkling her nose with a weird scent of flowers or something, the moment it disappeared, she shifted her gaze back to Hayden, "What are you doing out here?"
She glanced around swiftly, just in case he shouldn't be alone. [/blockquote][/blockquote] * * *

WARRIOR POET ONCE SAID ," you're not dead yet so live like you could be . " • • • • • • • • • • • • Painful memories of his past life plagued his mind, because of this, he did not notice the invictus approach. Only the sound of her soft, melodic voice brought him out of past memories. “Hey Pan.” He smiled weakly. Pan was a cheerful spirit, he was glad to have her around, especially in times like these. “I just wandered here tracking a group of demons." He said softly. He was more jumpy than usual, his eyes alert. No way was he going to let his guard down. It wasn’t like he chose to fight, but it was this driving instinct inside of him that made him carry on.
“What are you doing around?” He asked, studying the invictus’ face intently. She didn’t have quite a good handle on some human emotion, he found it amusing in some sort of weird way. Hayden’s thoughts wondered off to Azrael. The last time he had herd of him, the archangels already had their thoughts of his loyalty. Even the highest fall down sometimes, but Hayden did not believe Azrael had fallen. When not even archangels can trust their own kind, it was a bad sign.
Hayden was very aware of the v-shaped scar down his back even more so than usual. He hated not having the ability to fly. Not having wings left him feeling helpless and vulnerable. He was powerful even without his full abilities, but his strength now could not compare to his strength as an angel.
He turned his eyes to the sky and frowned. The sky was darker than the usual since the demons had arrived. A strong gust of wind sent leaves flying and rustling around them. His hand clenched tightly around the hilt of his sword. He didn’t like the sudden change in the weather, it wasn’t normal. There were demons close by, but that wasn’t what was bothering him at the moment. Hayden did his best to discard the feeling as he turned back to face Pan.
“What’s bothering you?” Hayden asked gently. He had noticed her eyes sweep over the area quickly. He could tell that the girl was feeling uneasy about something, it couldn’t hurt to know what it is.

Seeing the Fallen's reaction to her voice, she tilted her head softly. It always pained her somewhat to see others in pain, especially friends. Correction, even more so really. Pan always liked helping them out, and Hayden would definitely be no different. Shifting her pace slightly, her hand resting lazily on the hilt of the sword her unknown father had given her, she smiled back in a silent greeting after he greeted her, having been brought out of his thoughts. At his comment as to why, Pan tensed ever so slightly but nodded all the same. Demons. "Need any help finding them again, or have you stopped?" she arched an eyebrow playfully, telling him she'd be glad to help out without interacting too much, but enough to at least help him find the demons if he wanted to. Approaching him, she stood by him so that they could have a nice conversation, without much of a need to worry about being over-heard by anyone. Eyes flicked down to his sword for a split second, then back up to his eyes. She pursed her lips thoughtfully, and noticed his look, smiling lightly, she inquired, "What's that look for? Did I do something embarrassing and not blush?"
The woman smiled, before she then heard his inquiry. Why she was here. Honestly, she was here because she had just been walking around, and had caught his scent. Once she got someone's scent, she never forgot it, a little perk she presumed. It was nice, but it would get annoying if she knew too many people she thought. Hesitating, Pan replied, eyes glinting, "Creeping." A toothy grin plastered itself on her features as she laughed lightly, then answered, "I'm not really sure, though I guess you could say I was just walking around, and recognized a demon's scent, then I caught yours near it too, wanted to check to see if you were all right." she confessed, but didn't feel weird about it. Not all that much anyway. Muscles flinched ever so slightly upon seeing his hand clench on the sword, and a wind whipped up. Puffing her hair out of her face with a huff, the Invictus turned silently, the direction of her gaze turning from Hayden back towards the direction of where the breeze was coming from. What was this ominous feeling? It coiled itself into the pit of her stomach and made her want to clench it and throw up the feeling. Instead it vanished as quickly as it had happened, and she turned to check on Hayden, and was curious about...his question. What was bothering her? Her mind as sharp as a sword started spinning rapidly, digesting everything, breaking everything down. About everything was bothering her. How she wasn't allowed to fight all that much with Azrael around. That annoyed her, but she understood, it was to protect her, and keep others safe from her powers - if they got out of hand. What else was? Oh yes, the feeling that the demons were getting closer. Closing her eyes, Pan gave him the universal, "hold on" sign with her index finger, expanding her senses and mind. She wanted to see if anything threatening was nearby. Crap - the demons had caught onto Hayden's faint scent. Fortunately they weren't too close though, and if they wanted they could easily dodge this group of demons. Frowning, Pan then opened her eyes, and responded, "Just...stuff. And my paranoia. It says hi." her face contorted - or attempted to - into slight annoyance. It was an emotion she'd gotten down mostly - or she'd like to think. Grinning at herself, she asked, "I need to work on annoyance a little bit." she then gestured along the park way and such, "Want to walk a little bit? Or want to stay here?" She narrowed her eyes towards Hayden, then turned the question back at him, "Are you all right?" Not that she would invade his privacy and his mind, but she wanted to comfort Hayden if she needed to. Fallens were known to sometimes feel rejection, but she wasn't completely sure how Hayden felt. She would be there for him, completely. [/blockquote][/blockquote] * * *

WARRIOR POET ONCE SAID ," you're not dead yet so live like you could be . " • • • • • • • • • • • • At this point Hayden had no interest in tracking the demons again, he just left them be although he knew he’d have a much harder time finding them later. He wanted to sit still, to be able to think without the interruptions of having to kill demons. Now that he was capable of feeling emotions, he lost interest in things fairly quickly.
This time a real smile spread across his face. It felt good that for once he could relax. No worries, Hayden sighed happily. His hand dropped from his sword. Silently he leaned against the swing structure, the rusted metal felt cool on his skin.
He knew what paranoia felt like. With Pan being An Invictus, it just seems that much worse for her. Hayden pushed himself of the swing set, he liked how the mood around Pan was always changing. The girl pulled of annoyance pretty well. “I’m sure it’s fine.” He smirked playfully. “Where do you want to go?” Aimless walking was fine with him, they weren’t in any immediate danger at the moment.
Something about the day just seemed a little off, it was a gut feeling and he wasn’t liking it. “Something doesn’t feel…right.” Of course nothing felt right anymore, but he was sensing a lot of demon activity. It was like they were all swarming to some place and it bothered him.
Maybe his paranoia was getting to him, but honestly if her were feeling something this big, at least wouldn’t one other person sense it too? It only made sense. “Don’t you feel it?” He asked quietly, taking light steps as he always did. When he had these feelings, he was extremely cautious. The fallen one hated his gut feelings, it left him extremely paranoid. He felt like he always had to look over his shoulders. He could tell that his jumpiness was noticeable, no matter how much he tried to hide it. He only had limited abilities, so he could very easily die if a demon magically had a sword of shadow on them, or an anti-angel weapon. Hayden feared the sword of fire in the hand of a demon more than an anti-angel weapon. Just imagine a flaming sword of shadow, now picture it going through you. Not a delightful thing to imagine, right.

The Invictus felt her stomach drop, as her eyes shifted from Hayden, back to around them. Personally, she felt pretty protective of Hayden, even though he could probably handle himself, she still knew she'd feel responsible if anything should happen to him while she was around. Green eye and brown eyes narrowed slightly, figuring it out. Then, her attention snapped back to him the moment he spoke. Giving him a soft look, Pandora responded, "You're right." Which he was - unfortunately. At least he wasn't like most who enjoyed rubbing it in someone's face when they were right and that other person was wrong. It just got to be obnoxious. When the Fallen got off the swing set, she couldn't help but smile. She loved hanging out with Hayden. She wasn't sure why - but she did. And she wasn't going to worry about the reason why right now. Just what she needed. To be confused when she always enjoyed hanging out with him. The woman shrugged, "Where-ever we find ourselves, that good?"
she grinned playfully, her hand brushing against the sword on her left hip as her nostrils caught the scent of a demon or two. The Invictus scowled and inquired softly, falling near Hayden's side, "Did you catch that?" Her eyes jerked around. Where they toying with them, or did they just happen to pass by? Since she didn't catch it again, she figured they just happened to be passing by at that moment in time. Course when Hayden's inquiry came around, that's when Pandora unsheathed her sword. It didn't light up, she hadn't willed it to yet. No, she'd wait till the last possible moment too. Eyes narrowed, and she nodded, as the ominous wind carried around her and Hayden, "No...I feel it." she then paused and spoke, "You thinking what I'm thinking? It's like...the demons are.." she didn't want to say it, but she had a feeling he knew what she'd say. They were gathering somewhere. And for something too. What was it? Had they discovered something? Or caught something? Her worry flashed to Mars. No, even though he was young he was still powerful, and he was up high, and with no scent, they wouldn't find him at all - or very easily. Pandora's sword then lit up, the blue-yellow flames coiling with purple shadows, showing the hybrid form of the wielder. Twisting her, her eyes turned to her side as a demon appeared. Hurling her sword, a swift movement later and the demon curled up on the ground, withering and soon dying. Sheathing her sword, the Invictus shrugged, before falling back right into place with Hayden, not wanting to be too far from him, "Anything interesting going on with you? Or we can do what we did before, talk about the past, see what we've forgotten or haven't." she grinned weakly, wanting to try and keep the conversation light. WARRIOR POET ONCE SAID ," you're not dead yet so live like you could be . " • • • • • • • • • • • • “Where ever we find ourselves, that good?” He smiled as they started off in one direction. Wherever, whenever, it didn’t matter to him as long as got to talk with a friend. Hayden felt her fall in step with him at his side. “Did you catch that?” She inquired softly. Hayden frowned, his eyes searching the area. It was now that paranoia decided it wanted to mess with the two. If this was God trying to mess with them, it wasn’t funny. Hayden would love it if he could just get a break. Of course when trying to prove yourself worthy, there were no such thing as a break. You rarely got a break long enough to calm your nerves and just relax.
He was glad he wasn’t the only one feeling it. Here he thought he going crazy. “You thinking what I’m thinking? It’s like…the demons are…” Hayden nodded solemnly. This wasn’t good, he doubted the others could feel it, especially not the humans. The air around them seemed to crackled and frizz around them. Despite the gloom and the cold front covering the city, Hayden strangely felt hot, like he couldn’t breath.
Hayden turned to see Pan beating demon arse. He has no worries about the girl getting hurt, against a demon she was basically invincible. She was powerful and could pretty much beat every demon butt out there. He only had to worry about any Validus or demon that got into their heads to try and persuade her to join Lucifer. If Pan did, then that could mean a very bad thing for human kind. Lucifer would have the upper hand.
“Anything interesting going on with you? Or we can do what we did before, talk about the past, see what we’ve forgotten or haven’t” He hasn’t really shown anyone his past life, he hasn’t even told Pan a lot about his past life, or the reasons why he got kicked out of Heaven. He could easily show her things about his past, all she had to do was touch the scar tissue on his back. Seeing the look on her face he wanted to comfort her. “Hey,”
He said softly, looking down at her. He wasn’t about to tell her everything was going to be okay because he didn’t know that. “Just don’t think about what might or might not happen. The important thing is that you’re here with someone who cares.” He said sincerely before giving her a reassuring smile, “So…nothing much interesting has happened on my end, how about you?” He asked lightly, his hands in his pockets as they walked.
